How the IP Rated Fingerprint Clocking System Works
Clocking Methods
Employees register fingerprint clockings quickly and securely, leaving you safe in the knowledge that they cannot clock each other in or out. Our IP rated clocking terminal also supports proximity clocking via RFID badge or keyfob, with the option of a personal PIN for additional security. Each attendance event is accompanied by an audible and visual message to confirm success. The ClockRite System has the capacity for up to 16 clockings per employee per day.
Biometric Registration and Recording
The C240 terminal can store multiple fingerprints for each employee to protect against damage or abbraision to a single finger. The registration process is simple and clearly explained, taking just 10 seconds per employee. The C240 terminal has the capacity for up to 3000 fingerprint templates. After initial registration, each clocking event takes only a couple of seconds.
Time and Attendance With Door Access Control
ClockRite outdoor fingerprint terminals can also be enabled for access control by utilising biometric and proximity credentials in tandem; using one method (ie fingerprint) to register attendance and the other (ie designated badge/keyfob) to gain access to secure doors. Under this configuration each employee can register up to 16 attendance clockings and unlimited access control events each day. Our PC based time access control software allows you to easily monitor and manage employee movement between areas.
Entry/Exit and Multiple Door Scenarios
The C240 terminal will link to most internal or external doors and works as a switch to open the door locking mechanism for authorised users. The terminal can be used in tandem with our biometric and proximity peripheral door controllers to manage entry and exit on either side of a single door, or to control movement through two or more entry points. PC based access control software is used to centrally manage all devices.
Data Storage and Download
Clocking data is stored on the C240 terminal until downloaded via LAN or USB. Once downloaded, individual time sheets can be calculated and displayed in detailed reports. Attendance and payroll data is then stored securely on your PC or server.

Are there any monthly fees or ongoing costs?
No, we do not charge monthly fees or subscriptions. Quoted prices assume that you'll be installing the system yourself and include the following:

If you'd like to have your system installed by one of our engineers please get in touch for installation prices in your area.
After the first 12 months we'll invite you to renew your support contract with us. This is entirely optional, and you can take out a new support contract with us at any point in the future if you choose not to renew after the first 12 months. We do not charge an ongoing licence fee for the ClockRite software, and you'll still have access to your system regardless of whether or not you choose to renew.
How long is the warranty?
All clocking systems are supplied with a 12 month hardware warranty and 12 months software support. After this period you may choose to renew your support contract with us, thereby extending your system support and hardware warranty for a further 12 months.
Why choose fingerprint clocking?
Fingerprint recognition is a widespread and popular attendance clocking solution due to its ease, speed, reliability, and security. Unlike traditional clocking methods based on punch cards or accessories, fingerprint security prevents employees clocking one another in and out and eliminates the ‘lost fob’ excuse. Fingerprint recognition is increasingly common in mobile phones and other gadgets, meaning staff members are likely to be familiar with the technology and comfortable with the concept.
How is fingerprint data stored?
The terminal converts each fingerprint profile into a secure mathematical algorithm. No image of the user’s fingerprint is stored, and the algorithm cannot be reverse engineered. How easy is the fingerprint clocking process?
Staff simply rest their registered fingerprint on the biometric scanner. Recognition is almost instantaneous, and in normal operation staff members can register a clocking in around two seconds.
Can we control access to the terminal?
All ClockRite terminals feature a top-level administration menu that can only be accessed with a special RFID proximity ‘admin card’. Individual users can also be assigned permissions-based roles, allowing them to perform specified actions depending on their responsibilities.
Can we control access to the software?
The ClockRite Software supports permissions-based login profiles, ensuring users can only access the information they need to carry out their responsibilities. Security is ensured through the use of individual PINs.
Does the clocking machine have a DLST setting?
All clocking machines are supplied with our custom firmware and switches to and from Daylight Saving Time automatically.
Can I export data to my payroll system?
We support direct integration into Sage Payroll. For other payroll programs our main reports export to Microsoft Excel for quick and easy input.
Can we connect a bell to the clocking system?
A bell ringing system can be incorporated into the clocking system as long as the maximum load passing through the clocking machine does not exceed 12V DC / 1A. The terminal does not supply voltage to the bell(s), instead acting as a switch to sound the bell(s) at defined times. Please let us know if you’d like to discuss bell ringing requirements in detail.
Our business has more than one site, how would that work?
Clocking data can be downloaded from multiple sites into a centralised database subject to a handful of conditions (sites require a static IP address, for example). Many of our customers operate a multi-site clocking system, and we’d be happy to discuss your specific needs in detail.
How many computers can we install the software on?
Every system allows for software installation on 2 PCs as standard. Additional software seats can be purchased at any time. (A shared network drive or folder is required for multi-pc installation)
Is fingerprint clocking right for my industry?
Fingerprint technology is extremely reliable, but can be affected by dust, dirt, grease, and excess moisture. If these factors are a consideration in your workplace you may wish to consider a contactless clocking method such as facial recognition. If you’re at all unsure we would be more than happy to discuss your specific needs and advise which clocking method would be right for your business.
Where can the C240 terminal be installed?
The C240 clocking machine is IP rated and fully resistant to water, dust and dirt ingress. It is suitable for installation in any environment and is designed to be sleek and unobtrusive. We do advise that the unit not be installed in strong, direct sunlight, as this can cause false fingerprint reads in very rare circumstances.
How does access control work alongside time & attendance?
In a dual usage scenario employees utilise fingerprint and RFID proximity clocking; registering attendance with one credential and gaining access with the other.
