How the WiFi Fingerprint Door Access Control System Works

 

Biometric Access Control

 

Authorised employees gain access to secure doors by presenting their registered fingerprint to the scanner. Successful requests are confirmed with an audible and visual message. Door entry is quick, efficient, and fully reportable. The AC260 also includes an inbuilt RFID proximity reader.

 

Biometric Capacity and Recording

 

The AC260 terminal can store multiple fingerprints for each employee to protect against damage or abbraision to a single finger. The registration process is simple and clearly explained, taking just 10 seconds per employee. The AC260 terminal has the capacity for up to 23,000 fingerprint templates.

 

Entry/Exit and Multiple Door Scenarios

 

The AC260 terminal will link to most internal or external doors, working as a switch to open the door locking mechanism for authorised users. The terminal can be used in tandem with our biometric and proximity peripheral door controllers to manage entry and exit on either side of a single door, or to control movement through two or more entry points. All devices are centrally managed through our PC based access control software.

 

Permissions, Time Zones, and Live Monitoring

 

Our intuitive access control software makes it easy to monitor and manage employee movement between areas, allowing you to specify access permissions by role, responsibility, or department/group. Access events can be viewed in real time via live monitoring, and your assigned in-house administrator can enroll and manage users with ease.

 

Door Access Control with Time & Attendance

 

The AC260 WiFi access control system can also be enabled for time and attendance monitoring by utilising biometric and proximity credentials in tandem; using one method (ie fingerprint) to register attendance and the other (ie designated keycard/fob) to gain access to secure doors. Under this configuration each employee can register up to 16 attendance clockings and unlimited access control events each day. Our PC based time and attendance software enables quick and easy payroll calculation and features late starts and early finish flags, grace and rounding options, holidays, sickness, and overtime calculations.

Wireless Fingerprint Access Control System Software


The AC260 WiFi access control system is supplied with intuitive software, featuring a user-friendly, menu-driven dashboard with quick links to common operations. Real time monitoring gives you live feedback on access events and door status, while maps and floorplans can be imported for bespoke, site specific door management.

Detailed admin roles are easy to create and manage. Set access groups, timezones, anti-passback controls, and multi-card opening groups for high security doors. All software actions are logged for audit trail and later review.

How easy is the access process?

Staff simply present their registered fingerprint to the access control terminal’s scanner. Recognition is instantaneous, and authorised staff can gain access immediately.

Why choose fingerprint access control?

Fingerprint recognition is a widespread and popular access control solution due to its ease, speed, reliability, and security. Unlike traditional access methods based on swipe cards or accessories, fingerprint security prevents employees gaining access with someone else’s credentials. Fingerprint recognition is increasingly common in mobile phones and other gadgets, meaning staff members are likely to be familiar with the technology and comfortable with the concept.

Is fingerprint access control right for my industry?

Fingerprint technology is extremely reliable, but can be affected by dust, dirt, grease, and excess moisture. If these factors are a consideration in your workplace you may wish to consider the AC260’s RFID proximity capability, allowing staff to gain access using a badge or keyfob. If you’re at all unsure we would be more than happy to discuss your specific needs and advise which access control method would be right for your business.

How is biometric data stored?

The AC260 converts a users fingerprint into a secure mathematical algorithm. No image of the fingerprint is stored, and the algorithm cannot be reverse engineered.

Can we control access to the terminal?

The AC260 features a top-level administration menu that can only be accessed with a special RFID proximity ‘admin card’. Individual users can also be assigned permissions-based roles, allowing them to perform certain actions at the terminal depending on their responsibilities.

Does the terminal have a DLST setting?

Every AC260 fingerprint access control terminal is supplied with our custom firmware and will apply Daylight Saving Time automatically.

Are there any monthly fees?

There are no subscriptions or monthly fees to pay. Quoted prices include hardware, software, and 12 months unlimited UK support.

How long is the warranty?

Every AC260 fingerprint access control system is supplied with a 12 month hardware warranty and 12 months software support. After this period you may choose to renew your support contract with us, thereby extending your system support and hardware warranty for a further 12 months.

How many computers can we install the software on?

Every system allows for software installation on 2 PCs as standard. Additional software seats can be purchased at any time.
(A server or shared network drive is required for multi-pc installation)
