How the Wireless Proximity Clocking System Works
Clocking Methods
Proximity clocking is quick, easy, and making clocking completely non-touch, minimising wear and tear. Staff register attendance by passing their RFID badge or keyfob in front of the wireless proximity clock in machine, where an audible and visual message confirm the attendance. Each employee can register up to 16 attendance clockings per day.
Registration and Recording
The C150 wireless clocking machine stores all staff names and numbers securely. Proximity badges and keyfobs contain a built in RFID chip which communicates with the clocking terminal. The C150 clocking system has the capacity for as many as 999 staff. If you need a proximity clocking system for more than 200 employees please call us to discuss your requirements in detail.
Data Storage and Download
Clocking data is stored on the C150 proximity clock in machine until downloaded over your wireless network into our time and attendance software. The C150 also supports data download via LAN and USB, ensuring data can be retrieved in case of WiFi outage. Once downloaded, individual time sheets can be calculated and detailed reports are available to manage attendance and payroll data. Once downloaded, all data is stored securely on your PC or server.

Software
Wireless Proximity Clocking System Software
Our ClockRite Software provides an intuitive and versatile attendance clocking solution for your business. The software utilises attendance data from the C150 wireless proximity clock in machine to make payroll preparation quick and easy. Install to multiple PCs as needed and create tiered user profiles to ensure staff can only access information relevant to their role.
Employee Time Cards
View an at-a-glance summary of secure RFID clockings, hours worked, and relevant exceptions for all employees. Missing or erroneous clockings are easy to identify and amend, while total hours are intuitively broken down by pay rate and overtime category.
Multiple Shifts and Overtime Rates
ClockRite supports unlimited shift patterns, including night shifts, and allows for multiple shifts per employee or staff group. Proximity clocking data is analysed according to your specific shift rules in order to generate a detailed breakdown of all attended time. Define up to 5 rates of overtime to be applied daily or weekly as needed.
Holidays and Absence
Define multiple absence codes and track leave entitlement with our comprehensive absence module. View all absences in convenient calendar format and include paid leave in total hours reports, ensuring payroll data remains accurate.
Detailed Reports
Generate detailed, readable reports on every aspect of your employees’ time and attendance. Integrate data directly into Sage Line 50 or export to Microsoft Excel for simple transfer into other payroll systems.

FAQs
How long is the warranty?
All clocking systems are supplied with a 12 month hardware warranty and 12 months software support. After this period you may choose to renew your support contract with us, thereby extending your system support and hardware warranty for a further 12 months.
Are there any monthly fees or ongoing costs?
No, we do not charge monthly fees or subscriptions. Quoted prices assume that you'll be installing the system yourself and include the following:
Hardware
Software
Free delivery (UK mainland)
12 months unlimited UK support
If you'd like to have your system installed by one of our engineers please get in touch for installation prices in your area.
After the first 12 months we'll invite you to renew your support contract with us. This is entirely optional, and you can take out a new support contract with us at any point in the future if you choose not to renew after the first 12 months. We do not charge an ongoing licence fee for the ClockRite software, and you'll still have access to your system regardless of whether or not you choose to renew.
Why choose proximity clocking?
RFID proximity clocking is one of the most popular forms of attendance clocking, and for good reason! Fobs and badges are compact, durable, and discreet, while the contactless nature of RFID technology makes it ideal for environments where dust and dirt are a factor. Proximity clocking is well proven, and staff are usually familiar and comfortable with the concept. However, proximity clocking lacks the absolute security of fingerprint or facial recognition, and won't prevent 'buddy-clocking' amongst your staff.
Should we use keyfobs or badges?
RFID keyfobs and badges are equally reliable, and the choice between the two often comes down to personal preference or operating environment. Keyfobs fit snugly on a keyring, keychain, or lanyard, while badges are conveniently wallet-sized and can be attached to lanyards via a plastic pouch. Fobs are perhaps better suited to particularly harsh or active working environments, whereas badges might suit an office or corporate setting. Badges can be printed with staff names, pictures, and/or your company logo if required.
Are keyfobs/badges included in the system price?
Yes, all RFID proximity fobs or badges are included in the quoted price. The number of fobs or badges you'll receive is based on your chosen employee bracket; if you choose a system for up to 30 staff, for example, 30 fobs/badges will be included.
Can we control access to the terminal?
All ClockRite terminals feature a top-level administration menu that can only be accessed with a special RFID proximity ‘admin card’. Individual users can also be assigned permissions-based roles, allowing them to perform specified actions depending on their responsibilities.
Can we control access to the software?
The ClockRite Software supports permissions-based login profiles, ensuring users can only access the information they need to carry out their responsibilities. Security is ensured through the use of individual PINs.
Does the clocking machine have a DLST setting?
All clocking machines are supplied with our custom firmware and switches to and from Daylight Saving Time automatically.
Can we use existing clocking badges or fobs?
No. The C100 clocking terminal identifies staff members based on their unique ‘ClockRite ID’ number. As this number must be programmed onto the RFID badge or fob, existing clocking accessories are not supported.
Can I export data to my payroll system?
We support direct integration into Sage Payroll. For other payroll programs our main reports export to Microsoft Excel for quick and easy input.
Can we connect a bell to the clocking system?
A bell ringing system can be incorporated into the clocking system as long as the maximum load passing through the clocking machine does not exceed 12V DC / 1A. The terminal does not supply voltage to the bell(s), instead acting as a switch to sound the bell(s) at defined times. Please let us know if you’d like to discuss bell ringing requirements in detail.
Our business has more than one site, how would that work?
Clocking data can be downloaded from multiple sites into a centralised database subject to a handful of conditions (sites require a static IP address, for example). Many of our customers operate a multi-site clocking system, and we’d be happy to discuss your specific needs in detail.
How many computers can we install the software on?
Every system allows for software installation on 2 PCs as standard. Additional software seats can be purchased at any time. (A shared network drive or folder is required for multi-pc installation)
What’s the WiFi range?
WiFi range is generally similar to that of a mobile phone, laptop, or other WiFi capable device. Range is largely dependent on the signal strength of your wireless router, and can be affected by the construction of your building or nearby appliances. When considering an installation location for the wireless clocking machine a good rule of thumb is to ensure that your mobile phone can receive a consistent signal. If it can, the clocking machine should have no trouble gaining a connection too.
Which clocking method is best for my industry?
All three clocking methods are fast and reliable, but only fingerprint and facial recognition offer the additional benefits of biometric security. Fingerprint is our most popular clocking technology as employees are likely to be familiar and comfortable with the concept, but if your working environment is particularly harsh, dirty, or dusty, RFID or facial recognition may be a better fit.
How easy is the RFID access process?
Staff simply present their registered RFID badge or keyfob to the AC100 access control terminal. Recognition is instantaneous, and authorised staff can gain access immediately.
Why choose proximity access control?
RFID proximity is one of the most popular forms of access control. Fobs and badges are compact, durable, and discreet, while the contactless nature of RFID technology makes it ideal for environments where dust and dirt are a factor. Proximity technology is well proven, and staff are usually familiar and comfortable with the concept.
